Villa Limonaia

This is a charming guest-house with beautiful panoramic views. Set in open countryside just outside the city walls, it offers the peace and tranquility of the country as well as easy access to the city just over a mile away. As you enter the driveway through the villa’s gates the view is breathtaking, as you see Siena’s skyline and its vineyards, fruit orchards, and olive groves stretch before you. The swimming pool looks like a natural spring nestling between the rocks, and the peaceful garden is the ideal place to unwind and recharge your batteries.

A small indoor living room offers Internet access, a little library where you may swap a book you have read for one that you haven’t, two comfortable sofas with well-positioned reading lights, a table for playing chess, magazines and guidebooks. And there is also the Limonaia (lemon grove) where you can sit and organize the itinerary for your day!

Each of the 6 guest rooms has a distinctive mood of its own—evocative, intriguing, colourful or romantic—created by the style and colours of the décor. Every room has a private bath and shower, air conditioning, satellite TV, mini-bar with complementary mineral water and fruit juice, a welcome basket of fresh fruit, a kettle and a wide selection of different teas and coffee, a hair-dryer, a swimming towel for the pool, bed-covers in keeping with the style of the room or fluffy goose-feather quilts in the winter. The villa and all the rooms are non-smoking.

The breakfast menu is full of tasty treats, with pride of place given to the home-made jams, all cooked with organically grown fruit. The favourite is the lemon jam, made with lemons from the century-old lemon trees in the garden. Other preserves include fig, peach, and berry, depending on what is in season.

In addition to the classic continental breakfast, we offer food products that are native to this region – everything from Pienza DOP pecorino cheese to Tuscan cold cuts, as well as eggs any way you like. We can also prepare other things such as French toast or pancakes, fresh fruit salad, and other specialities upon request. Breakfasting in the magnificent garden is a unique multi-sense experience as the tastes of breakfast mingle with the fragrance of the flowers, depending on the season and the direction of the wind.
